A Message For The New Year
Congratulations to all of you who have dedicated the last year of your life to fitness and building a better life for yourself -- you know who you are.
2023 marks a fresh start for many of you. It's a symbolic moment of reflection that can either remind you of your triumphs or remind you of what could have been.
As we turn the page on 2022 we are faced with a choice. Do we dedicate to something challenging? Do we choose to elevate, and prioritize discipline above instant gratification? The choice is yours and you’ll have your answer by February. Will you simply sink back into the routines and habits that produce a sub-par version of yourself.
Upon making the decision to better your life you should be aware of what you’re signing up for.
Right off the bat, you need to accept that you will be the only one of your friends still going to the gym in March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, and December. You will forget you ever made the promise on January 1st 2023 — that you would choose to improve your life by prioritizing health and fitness. Many times, the idea of the gym will seem "boring", and you its likely you wont often "feel like it". Imagine now, it's cold and rainy and you had a long day. The idea of the couch is just so enticing. You must be ready to face those days. It is inevitable that you will be faced with that very real scenario, and you must make this promise to yourself despite all of that.
Be the person, on Jan 1st 2024, who can look back on 2023 and say, I kept that promise to myself and I’m only getting started. You kept a VERY difficult promise to yourself, against all odds. And instead of feeling drained from all your hard work, you’ll be INVIGORATED.
Next year I will congratulate you on your success.
See you on the other side and I will leave you with some highlights of my 2022 that will hopefully leave you inspired.
