Monday is the start of Gaintrust’s Powerbuilding program. For the longest time, I’ve relied solely on my instincts to developing an approach to getting swole in the gym. It was years before Reddit made it a ‘thing’ that the deadlift and squat the king and queen of weight-room (however arbitrarily) that I was regularly hitting those movements as a novice. Whether it be my wrestling background or my overall enjoyment of the lifts, I included them in my programming early and often.
