Foods I Ate When I Was At My Leanest
In 2018 I was at my leanest. People ask me often about this time in my training and it's true -- I was at my peak physique and there was key factor in my ability to look this cut... Diet. Here is what I was eating during the summer of shreds.
Fresh food... lots and lots of fresh food. Meal prep every Sunday.
Breakfast - Zucchini & Pepper Egg Pies
Basic meal prep -- Grilled chicken, sweet potato, green beens...
Egg whites... lots of egg whites. I used to guzzle this like a milk shake all throughout the day. This was before eggs were going for the price of gold however. Also ready rice... lots of ready rice.
Steak and potatoes and deconstructed steak burritos.
Deconstructed chicken burritos. This was my favorite meal. Just dump a bunch of verde hot sauce
Cod with cilantro dressing.
Maintaining a lean and shredded physique requires a dedication to both training and nutrition. I was in the gym 6 days a week (sometimes more). Do I recommend that? Not for everyone, certainly not. But I was in my prime and my body could handle it.
The summer of shreds was fueled by lots and lots of fresh foods, meal prepping, and a diet consisting of lean protein sources, vegetables, and healthy carbohydrates. By adopting a similar approach to nutrition and staying consistent with training, anyone can achieve their fitness goals and attain a Summer of Shreds 2023. I hope this inspires you to get out their, train hard, and stick to the healthy food section at the grocery store.
